Hello all and thanks for checking in at
The O’Grady Fly Fishing Adventures. Had a trip go out today and was a little
nervous after the perfect feeding conditions we have seen the last 4 days.
Flows dropped this morning and fishing was technical but John tore it up. Lost
several in the morning but after figuring it out, John made up for it in the afternoon and managed several to the net, including an absolutely gorgeous brown
and a 20.5 inch bow. Fish were on the FOD and Black Beauty in the
morning and were taking the J-bomb if the afternoon.
I was looking at the snowpack for the
Ark drainage and I am a little nervous. As of today the drainage is 112 % of
normal and a whopping 140% of last year, and we all remember last year’s extended
runoff. If you are considering a guide trip, call and book now, we have no idea
how long the flows will stay fishable.719-543-3900. Also with the expected extended
runoff it may be time to start thinking about the South Park Lakes. Moving from
rivers to lakes can be a little intimidating so we at The Drift have the
perfect plan to get you on the lakes catching fish. With the purchase of an
Outcast or Fishcat pontoon boat or a Sage Accel rod you will a receive a free
sit down with Cat or I and we will go over bugs, rigging, strategy, safety and everything
we can think of to make your next lake trip a success. As always, Connell, Cat,
Winston, and The Drift Fly Shop want to thank you for reading……..
